Books that keep themselves.

07:40 AM · Receipts

Receipts read themselves

Snap it, forward it or let the card feed bring it in. Fernledger reads the vendor, the total and the tax, picks the category, and tells you how sure it is. Anything under 90% waits for you with one clear question.

Fernledger's inbox, sample data: six receipts read automatically, each with vendor, date, amount, a suggested category and a confidence score. Five were filed; one hand-written receipt at 61% confidence waits for the owner.

[USED BY N BOSTON BUSINESSES]

Most small businesses don't need more software. They need the month to be finished. Fernledger does the bookkeeping, a person signs it off, and you get your evenings back.

12:15 PM · Bank

Every bank line, matched

Each line on your bank and card statements is matched to a bill, an invoice, a payroll run or a transfer. Card payouts are split back into the invoices they paid. The few it can't place are listed, not guessed.

Fernledger's bank matching, sample data: 142 of 146 bank lines matched to bills, invoices, payroll and transfers. One check for $450 has no match yet and is flagged for the owner.

05:30 PM · Ask

Ask your books in plain English

What did we spend on subcontractors? Who owes us more than 30 days? Can we afford the new van? You get a straight answer, a small chart and the exact transactions behind it, so you can check every number.

Fernledger's Ask screen, sample data: the owner asks how much was spent on subcontractors in Q3 compared with Q2. The answer: $18,420 in Q3, up 12% on $16,450 in Q2, mostly two August invoices, based on 37 transactions, with a small bar chart.

Plugs into the money you already move

Connect your bank, cards and payroll once. When tax season comes, your accountant gets an export in the format their software already reads.

Security

Careful with money, in plain words

[SOC 2 TYPE II · STATUS][201 CMR 17.00 PROGRAM][TRUST CENTRE LINK]
  • Read-only bank access

Fernledger can see transactions. It can't move money, and it never stores your bank login.

  • Your data stays yours

Your books are never used to train shared AI models. Export everything, any time, in standard formats.

  • A person signs it off

AI does the routine work. A credentialed accountant reviews every month-end close before it reaches you.

  • Written security program

Built to Massachusetts 201 CMR 17.00: access limits, encryption in transit and at rest, a breach plan.

Pricing · sample, not a real offer

One price a month. No hourly bills.

Every plan starts with a 30-day trial and no card. After 30 days a plan starts only if you choose one, and you can cancel online, the same way you signed up.

FAQ

The questions owners ask first

Can I trust AI with my books?

You don't have to trust it blindly. Every category comes with a confidence score, anything uncertain waits for you, every answer links to its transactions, and an accountant reviews each month-end close before you see it.

What if it files something in the wrong category?

Change it once and Fernledger learns the rule for that vendor. Every change is logged, so your accountant can see who changed what and when.

Do I still need my accountant?

For tax returns and advice, yes. Fernledger replaces the routine bookkeeping. Your accountant gets clean, closed books and a login of their own, which usually makes tax season shorter.

What happens to my data?

It's encrypted in transit and at rest, bank access is read-only, and it is never used to train shared AI models. You can export it or delete it at any time.

What happens when the trial ends?

Nothing, unless you choose a plan. The trial needs no card. If you do choose a plan, you'll see the price and the renewal date first, and you can cancel online in the same place you signed up.

Can I leave and take my books with me?

Yes. Export your full ledger, receipts and reports as CSV and PDF in one click, whenever you like.

11:50 PM · Close

The month closes while you sleep

On the last night of the month Fernledger runs the close: everything filed, everything matched, sales tax set aside. Then a Boston accountant reviews it and signs it off. You wake up to a finished profit and loss.

Fernledger's month-end close, sample data: five steps ticked, from filing 214 receipts to an accountant's sign-off at 11:48 PM. The profit and loss report is ready.

Close October tonight.

Start a trial and connect your bank in about three minutes, or book 20 minutes with someone who will show you your own numbers.
